How to Fix IncrediMail Error 421?

Symptoms of Error 421

“Error 421” appears and crashes the active program window.

Your PC frequently crashes with Error 421 when running the same program.

“421 Service not available” is displayed.

Windows runs sluggishly and responds slowly to mouse or keyboard input.

Your computer periodically “freezes” for a few seconds at a time.

 

Causes of Error 421

Corrupt download or incomplete installation of IncrediMail software.

Corruption in Windows registry from a recent IncrediMail-related software change (installs or uninstall).

Virus or malware infection that has corrupted Windows system files or IncrediMail-related program files.

Another program maliciously or mistakenly deleted IncrediMail-related files.

Runtime Errors such as “Error 421” can be caused by a variety of factors, so it is important that you troubleshoot each of the possible causes to prevent it from recurring.

Step 1: Repair Registry Entries Associated with Error 421

To manually repair your Windows registry, first you need to create a backup by exporting a portion of the registry related to Error 421 (eg. IncrediMail):

Click the Start button.

Type “command” in the search box… DO NOT hit ENTER yet!

While holding CTRL-Shift on your keyboard, hit ENTER.

You will be prompted with a permission dialog box.

Click Yes.

A black box will open with a blinking cursor.

Type “regedit” and hit ENTER.

In the Registry Editor, select the Error 421-related key (eg. IncrediMail) you want to back up.

From the File menu, choose Export.

In the Save In the list, select the folder where you want to save the IncrediMail backup key.

In the File Name box, type a name for your backup file, such as “IncrediMail Backup”.

In the Export Range box, be sure that “Selected branch” is selected.

Click Save.

The file is then saved with a .reg file extension.

You now have a backup of your IncrediMail-related registry entry.

In Disk or Drive section, you have to right click on LOCAL DISK(C:)

When you will right click on LOCAL DISK (C:) you will see Properties Tab in the Last, just click on it.

Now a new dialogue box open with the name of LOCAL Disk (C:) Properties…

Here you can see Drive with Green and Pick Colors with the button of Disk Cleanup just click on Button.

After click on Disk Cleanup button, The Disk Cleanup dialog box will appear with series of checkboxes you can select. In most cases, the “Temporary Files” category will occupy the most disk space, and Click OK

You will be prompted with a permission dialog box with Delete file or Cancel.

Click Delete Files.

Step 4: Update Your PC Device Drivers

Instructions for Windows 8:

Hover the cursor in the bottom left of the screen to produce the Start Menu image.

Right-Click to bring up the Start Context Menu.

Click Programs and Features.

Locate 421 Service not available-associated program (eg. IncrediMail) under the Name column.

Click on the IncrediMail-associated entry.

Click the Uninstall/Change on the top menu ribbon.

Follow the on-screen directions to complete the uninstallation of your Error 421-associated program.

Step 7: Run Windows System File Checker (“sfc /scannow”)

This step is your final option in trying to resolve your Error 421 issue. Reinstalling Windows will erase everything from your hard drive, allowing you to start again with a fresh system.
